Gas or Electric?

Is it too cold on your patio in the cooler months? Are you unsure of what type of patio heater to use? Let’s look at the options.

Electric Heaters

When it comes to Electric Patio Heaters, power availability is everything. There are both low & high voltage units available. First you have to determine what type of voltage you have access to. If you are lucky enough to have access to high voltage power in your electrical panel you will be able to heat your residential or commercial patio very well in high style. Electric Patio Heaters are very stylish, have many mounting configurations, including flush ceiling mount, and are very economical to operate- .30¢ per hour for every 3000w.

The most powerful Electric heater we offer is 6000w, so that is less than $1.00 per hour! In the event that you only have low voltage power (110v) power available, there are still option out there for you. 110v Electric Patio Heaters are not as effective but will work in a pinch when high voltage or gas heaters are not an option on your patio. There are both wall/ceiling mount heaters & portable 110v Electric Patio Heaters available.

Gas Patio Heaters

Gas Patio Heaters are also available in both wall/ceiling mount as well as portable models. They can utilize both natural gas (NG) or liquid propane (LP). It is important to make sure you are choosing a model designed to operate on the type of gas that you have available. Another important factor to consider when choosing a gas heater is the overall size of the unit and the clearance to combustibles. Calcana, Sunpak, Schwank, Detroit Radiant, and Bromic all offer different models of wall/ceiling mounted Gas Patio Heaters.

We also have multiple different manufacturers of Stand Up Portable Patio Heaters. The differences in design, styling, and effectiveness can be overwhelming, so we are here to help.
